Jim Campbell

Jim has had a passion for singing in close harmony from a very young age in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. He grew up around his mother's Sweet Adelines activities and soon learned to sing in harmony along with her recordings of male and female barbershop quartets. Jim's barbershop background includes the Louisville Thoroughbreds and numerous competition quartets both in the Cardinal and Far Western Districts. He is also a quartet and chorus coach and writes barbershop arrangements. Jim has spent many years singing with the venerable barbershop quartet The Dapper Dans of Disneyland. With The Perfect Gentlemen he won the 2002 National A Cappella Championship and has recorded three albums toured England and Brazil. They recently sang on a national television commercial for GameStop promoting the Batman: Arkham Asylum video game.

Jim also performs with the fabulous mixed vocal jazz quartet Ready Willing & Mabel. As a freelance singer in Los Angeles, Jim's film credits include X-Men Origins: Wolverine, 2010, Earth, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, The Haunted Mansion and Deepo's 3-D Undersea Wondershow appearing at Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta and Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. Television work includes The Simpsons, The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, That '70s Show, Home Improvement, Family Jewels, The Carson Daly Show, Gilmore Girls, Ned & Stacey, Blossom and numerous Disney TV specials. Jim can also be heard singing on the soundtrack of The Mystery Mine attraction at Dollywood in Tennessee. He has sung and done voice-overs on a number of radio commercials. As a choral singer Jim has sung in concert with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Pacific Symphony Pops, Santa Barbara Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and The Louisville Orchestra. Jim has also sung with the Los Angeles Chamber Singers , Pacific Chorale, Angeles Chorale and The LA Choral Artists. He has been a guest soloist with The Foothill Master Chorale. He is bass soloist/section leader for Canterbury Choir at All Saints Church Pasadena and is a sought-after guest soloist with other churches in LA. Jim began his professional career in regional musical theatre productions and opera in Kentucky. He studied voice at Bellarmine College and at The UC Santa Barbara Vocal Institute. His regional credits include Curly in Oklahoma!, Kenickie in Grease, Action in West Side Story and the barbershop quartet in The Music Man. Jim spent 8 years in the U.S. Army Reserves doing flight operations for a helicopter ambulance unit, being honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. Jim's other interests include golf, tennis, home improvement projects, Scrabble, crosswords, old movies, vintage sheet music and raising chickens. Jim resides in Glendora with his lovely wife Danae and their young son Will.
